Our Private Beach Rides

Horseback riding is an outdoor activity enjoyed by many. As with any excursion it's always good to know what to expect so that it's the right choice for you. Please take the time to read this information before you book.

Useful facts and information
BEFORE you book

  • For safety reasons we cannot take riders over 220lbs. During the booking process you will be asked your body weight plus the weight of all other riders so that we can prepare the appropriate horses. Weights are also checked on arrival so please ensure to input the correct weights of each rider to avoid any disappointment for any rider that may be over our limit.

  • Each guest is allocated their own horse. Young children and nervous adults are led by our guides. For safety reasons we do not allow double riding.

  • Transportation is an optional add on. If you purchased through a third-party, we are happy to arrange a taxi for you. Contact us via email: info@sandyhoofsstlucia.com or phone: +1(758)730-5975 or +1(758)717-5800.

  • Horseback riding is an outdoor activity, and we head out on the trails rain or sun. However, if we get notification from the MET office that the weather is unsafe then we will reschedule or refund your ride.

What's my rider ability?

  • I am a BEGINNER rider. (This means that you have ridden less than 10 times in a lesson setting. You may be familiar with some riding aids but have limited experience).

  • I am a NOVICE rider. (This means you have 10-50 times in a lesson setting. You can mount and dismount unassisted, can ride balanced at the trot and are learning how to sit a canter).

  • I am an INTERMEDIATE rider. (This means that you have ridden more than 50 times in a lesson setting. You can ride balanced at trot, canter and gallop and can handle a buck or bolt from a more challenging horse).

  • I am an ADVANCED rider. (This means that you have ridden 100's of times. You can adapt to understand the horse's character, ride lightly with your hands and balanced at all paces. You may have taught or teach beginner riders and horses).
